Hello my close and distant and long-lost friends! I'm so excited to be typing this right now, because it means I have new music coming out finally and very soon. I wanted to write a bit to explain what exactly is going on here, in case we haven't talked in a while. Here's what's happening:
- I'm going under the pseudonym Jen Dressed Ridiculous (@jendressedridic). I love it, I'd eat it with a spoon and savor the grammatical incorrectness to the last frozen bead. This project name will include my band as well, when we finally start playing live in 2024.
- Two singles will be debuting in the next week. Details TBA--but once they're out, I want (need?) to know what you think.
- The plan is this: release these two singles (some “in the know” friends have already dared to attribute the word “hits”) and see what my sphere thinks. Close friends, family, students, their parents, and certainly old Common Shiner fans - you're all in on the ground floor. Let's see where this elevator goes.
- If people like these songs, we've got plenty burning in the back. Wanna hear more songs about disappointing relationships, depression, anxiety, and maybe an overly-sweet tune about hoping every person I meet does amazing things on their journey no matter how close or far we are? All while hopefully DANCING? Tell me. I'll try to make them happen. We've got several other songs tracked and just itching to be released after some more recording and mixing. A song a month may be a lofty goal, but that's the dream here.
